Opening Ceremony for the IOM project “Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disabled Children” in Derventa

  

On March 16th, 2016, the opening ceremony of Public Institution Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities "Buducnost" in Derventa, which was rehabilitated as a part of the IOM project “Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disabled Children”, was organized in the Municipality of Derventa. Deputy Head of Mission of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Kazumasa Miyazaki, Assistant Minister of Health and Social Security of Republic of Srpska Ms. Branka Sladojevic, Mayor of Derventa Municipality Mr. Milorad Simic and Resource Management Officer of IOM Sarajevo Ms. Radmila Unosevic attended the ceremony.

55 children with special needs and their 155 family members will make use of this facility. The IOM project “Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disabled Children” repairs and reconstructs 5 facilities in Derventa, Orasje, Bijeljina, Srbac and Prijedor which were damaged by the flood in May 2014. The Government of Japan granted 700,000 US Dollars (approximately 1.1 million KM) to IOM for the project.
