Opening Ceremony for the IOM project “Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disabled Children” in Prijedor

  

     On April 14th, 2016, the opening ceremony of Auxiliary Facility for Mushroom Production of “Center for Persons with Disability Prijedor ”, which was rehabilitated as a part of the IOM project “Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disable Children”, was organized in the City of Prijedor. Deputy Head of Mission of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Kazumasa Miyazaki, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republic of Srpska Ms. Branka Sladojevic, Deputy Mayor of Prijedor City Mr. Milenko Djakovic, Resource Management Officer of IOM Sarajevo Ms. Radmila Urosevic and Director of “Center for Persons with Disability Prijedor” Mr. Rajko Drinic attended the ceremony.
 
    The Center provides services to approximately 200 persons with special needs, aged 6 to 77, who are coming not only from BiH but also from Croatia and Montenegro. Cultivating mushrooms in the auxiliary facility would be expected to effect the beneficiaries of the center as a working therapy.
 
     The IOM project “Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disabled Children” repairs and reconstructs 5 facilities in Prijedor, Derventa, Orasje, Bijeljina and Srbac which were damaged by the flood in May 2014. The Government of Japan ganted 700,000 US Dollars (approximately 1.1 million KM) to IOM for the project.
