On the occasion of the sudden death of Ms. Jadranka Stojaković, the famous BiH songwriter and singer who had lived and worked in Japan, commemorations were held in Sarajevo on 7 May and in Banja Luka on 9 May.
Ambassador Kazuya Ogawa participated in the commemoration held at the National Theatre in Sarajevo and, on behalf of the people of Japan, expressed sincere condolences to everyone who knew Ms. Jadranka. In his speech, Ambassador Ogawa also stressed the fact that, when the disastrous earthquake struck Japan in 2011, Ms. Jadranka provided her house as a temporary residence for the earthquake victims. Ambassador Ogawa also announced the concerts of the Japanese group B-come who were Ms. Jadranka’s close friends and colleagues. These concerts will take place in Sarajevo and Banja Luka in honor of Ms. Jadranka, in June.
Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Japan, Mr. Kazumasa Miyazaki participated in the funeral and in the commemoration in Banja Luka, and also expressed sincere condolences on behalf of the people of Japan.
