Opening Ceremony for “Daily Care Centre Bijelina”

   

On May 19th, 2016, Ambassador of Japan to BiH Mr. Kazuya Ogawa participated in the opening ceremony of “Daily Care Centre Bijelina”, which was constructed as a part of the IOM project“Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disabled Children”. Together with Ambassador Mr. Ogawa, Minister of Health and Social Protection of RS Mr. Dragan Bogdanic, Mayor of City of Bijelina Mr. Mico Micic, Director of Daily Care Centre Bijelina Mr. Milan Simeunovic, and Resource Management Officer of IOM Sarajevo Ms. Radmila Urošević attended the ceremony. Daily Care Centre Bijelina will provide full-time daily care services to around 50 children with special needs. Additionally, around 700 disabled children registered in Bijelina will be able to use the centre.

The IOM project “Repair and Reconstruction of Centers for Disabled Children” repaired and reconstructed 5 facilities in Derventa, Orasje, Bijeljina, Srbac and Prijedor which were damaged by the flood in May 2014. The Government of Japan granted 700,000 US Dollars (approximately 1.1 million KM) to IOM for the project.
