Handover Ceremony for the Project for Improvement of Heating System for Primary School “Stevan Nemanja” Gornji Dragaljevac, Bijeljina

On May 18, 2016, Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Kazuya Ogawa participated in the handover ceremony for “the Project for Improvement of Heating System for Primary School “Stevan Nemanja” Gornji Dragaljevac, Bijeljina” in Gornji Dragaljevac, where is located in the north-east part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Together with Ambassador Mr. Ogawa, RS Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Dane Malesevic, Mayor of City of Bijeljina Mr. Mico Micic, Headmaster of Primary School “Stevan Nemanja” Mr. Doko Anicic.
The Government of Japan has granted 92,927 EUR (181,749 KM) to the Primary School under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GAGP) scheme in order to install a new heating system including a new boiler room, repair windows and doors of the school main building and its gymnasium, and reconstruct toilets. Around 120 pupils and 40 school staff enjoy the benefit of this project.
The Government of Japan attaches importance to improvement of primary educational environment, and has so far supported over 70 projects in the educational sector under the GAGP scheme since 1996.
