Handover Ceremony for the Project for Equipping Health Care Center Maglaj with Medical Equipment

On November 2, 2016, the handover ceremony for “The Project for Equipping Health Care Center (HCC) Maglaj with Medical Equipment” was held at the HCC with attendance of Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Kazumasa Miyazaki, Minister of Health of Zenica-Doboj Canton Mr Dragoljub Brenjo, Mayor of Maglaj Municipality Mr Mehmed Mustabasic and Director of HCC Maglaj Emira Drnda Ciceklic.
The Government of Japan has granted 77,869 EUR (152,300 KM) to the HCC under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GAGP) scheme in order to install a new Multi-purpose digital X-ray apparatus. This project will directly benefit around 5,000 patients who need to have X-ray examination in the Health Care Center per year, while indirect project beneficiaries are around 25,000 residents of the Municipality.
The Government of Japan attaches importance to improvement of primary health care environment, and has so far granted for around 30 projects in the health care sector across Bosnia and Herzegovina under the GAGP scheme since 1996.
