Handover Ceremony for “The Project for Equipping Sanski Most Health Care Center with an Ambulance Vehicle”

On 21 June, 2018, a handover ceremony for “The Project for Equipping Sanski Most Health Care Center with an Ambulance Vehicle” was held in the Municipality of Sanski Most with attendance of Ambassador Hideyuki Sakamoto, Dr. Hazim Kapic, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Affairs, Una Sana Canton, Mr. Faris Hasanbegovic, Mayor Municipality Sanski Most and Dr. Hajrudin Boskovic, Director of Health Care Center Sanski Most.

Under Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GAGP) scheme, the Government of Japan granted 30,955 EUR (approx. 60,500 KM) to the Health Care Center for procurement of one ambulance vehicle. The Center has used an ambulance vehicle which was donated by the Government of Japan in 2006, but they need new one because the old ambulance has broken down frequently. Total number of direct project beneficiaries is about 6,500 patients who need ambulance service in a year.

The Government of Japan attaches importance to improvement of primary health care environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and has supported over 30 projects in the health care sector under the GAGP scheme since 1996.
