Signing Ceremony for Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects for Demining in Vitez and Primary Schools in Foca and Zenica

  

 
Under the scheme of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, the Government of Japan decided to grant 271,029 Euro (approx. 530,000 KM) to The Project for Support of Demining in Vitez; 60,886 Euro (approx. 119,000 KM) to The Project for Rehabilitation of Primary School Sveti Sava in Foča; and 80,565 Euro (approx. 157,000 KM) to The Project for Rehabilitation of Primary School Skender Kulenović in Zenica.

On 7 March, Ambassador Hideyuki Sakamoto signed the Grant Contracts with Ambassador Tomaž Lovrenčić, Director of ITF Enhancing Human Security, Ms.Jelena Čančar, Director of Sveti Sava Primary School in Foča, and Mr. Amel Kablar, Director of Skender Kulenović Primary School in Zenica respectively. 

For the demining project, representatives from BHMAC (BH Mine Action Centre) and US Embassy which is co-financed the administration cost for the project also attended the ceremony. With implementation of this project, about 25,000 residents in the municipality will receive benefit.
The projects for rehabilitation of Primary School Sveti Sava in Foča and Primary School Skender Kulenović in Zenica will improve safety of the facilities and educational environment for children by replacing school floors, water pipelines and toilets as well as deteriorated joineries such as windows, window frames and doors.
