Handover Ceremony for “The Project for Rehabilitation of Sveti Sava Primary School in Rogatica”


  


On 10 June 2019, a handover ceremony for “The Project for Rehabilitation of Sveti Sava Primary School in Rogatica” was held in the Municipality of Rogatica with attendance of Ambassador Hideyuki Sakamoto, Ms. Natalija Trivic, Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, and Ms. Snezana Pjevcevic, School Director of Sveti Sava Primary School.

The Government of Japan granted 74,553EUR (approx. 145,800 KM) to the Primary School for replacing deteriorated joineries such as windows and doors in the school buildings. The school buildings were built in 1975, and, they have never had major renovation till now. Thus, there were serious problems such as danger of being injured by the broken joineries. Total number of direct project beneficiaries is about 800 students and 70 teachers and staff in the school.

The Government of Japan attaches importance to the improvement of educational environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and has supported more than 90 educational institutions since 1996.
