Renowned Japanese Architect Professor Yusuke Obuchi Held Lectures in Sarajevo and Banja Luka

On the ocassion of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a renowned Japanese architect and associate professor at the University of Tokyo Mr. Yusuke Obuchi held lectures on contemporary Japanese architecture in Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
Professor Obuchi's lecture in Sarajevo titled ''Architecture in the Age of Cyborgs'' was held on 26 May, 2016 at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Sarajevo as part of the symposium on Japanese arhitecture hosted by the Embassy of Japan in BiH and University of Sarajevo Faculty of Architecture. The participants in the symposium were Professor Obuchi and Mr. Mensur Demir, on behalf of the renowned BiH architect Mr. Amir Vuk Zec.
Professor Obuchi spoke about the current digital fabrication research in architecture at his design laboratory at the University of Tokyo, presenting a series of design research projects exploring the intersection of humans and 3D printing technology for the production of architectural constructs. Mr. Demir spoke about the Japanese architecture and the most renowned Japanese architects, drawing a parallel between Japanese and BiH traditional architectural styles. Both interlocutors also touched upon the contemporary Japanese architecture exhibition ''Parallel Nippon'', which was taking place at the National Gallery of BiH, 10-31 May 2016.
On 27 May, Professor Obuchi held the same lecture ''Architecture in the Age of Cyborgs'' at the Faculty of Architecture, Geodesy and Civil Engineering, University of Banja Luka. The event was moderated by Professor Brankica Milojević, the Faculty Dean.
Both lectures were well visited, and followed by fruitful Q&A sessions.
