Japanese Culture and Nanbudo Night in Banja Luka


On 29 October 2016, the event ''Japanese Culture and Nanbudo Night'' took place at the City Theater Jazavac in Banja Luka, organized by the Banja Luka Nanbudo Center. The event was organized within the 11th International Nanbudo Seminar, which was held in the period 28-30 October 2016 in Banja Luka.
Japanese Culture and Nanbudo Night featured origami exhibition, exhibition of traditional Japanese wearing, traditional Japanese dances, traditional Japanese tea ceremony, and Nanbudo sport. Also, a former Japanese scholarship student and professor at the University of Banja Luka Ms. Suzana Gotovac-Atlagic, held a presentation on the two countries' relations and Japan's assistance in the post-war period, titled ''Bridges of Hope'' – on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between BiH and Japan.
The event was attended by the representatives of the Embassy of Japan in BiH, the Founder of Nanbudo Mr. Yoshinao NANBU, former Japanese Government and JICA scholarship students from Banja Luka, and a great number of Japanese culture fans. Mr. Takayuki KUMAKURA, Head of Culture and Public Relations Section, Embassy of Japan opened the event together with the President of Nanbudo Center Mr. Miroslav Matić and Director Prof. Saša Purnjaga. They all expressed desire for this event to contribute to strengthening of friendly relations between our people and countries, and further promote intellectual and cultural bilateral exchange.
