Handover Ceremony for The Project for Improvement of Heating System for Primary School “Jezerski” Bosanska Krupa

On November 10, 2016, the handover ceremony for “The Project for Improvement of Heating System for Primary School “Jezerski” Bosanska Krupa” was held at the Primary School with attendance of Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Kazumasa Miyazaki, Mayor of Bosanska Krupa Municipality Mr. Armin Halitovic, Headmaster of Primary School “Jezerski” Mr. Almir Hodzic and President of the Parents’ Council, Primary School “Jezerski” Ms. Mirta Jusic.
Under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GAGP) scheme, the Government of Japan granted 93,451 EUR (182,775.96KM) to Primary School “Jezerski”, for rehabilitation of heating system in central school and branch school „Mahmići“ and for renovation of joineries in the central school and its sports hall. Although pupils studied in heavily cold class rooms in winter season, since there was no central heating system and joineries were deteriorated in the both school buildings. Total number of direct project beneficiaries is 473 pupils and 46 teachers and non-teaching stuffs of the Primary School. The school buildings will be used by some local communities, therefore, this project would contribute indirectly to around 4,000 people living in the Municipality.
The Government of Japan attaches importance to improvement of primary educational environment, and has, since 1996, granted over 70 projects in the educational sector under the GAGP scheme.
