Presentation Ceremony of the Japanese Ambassador’s Commendation to IPIL-IPIL no KAI

On April 12th, 2017, the Presentation ceremony of the Japanese Ambassador’s Commendation to IPIL-IPIL no KAI, a Japanese NGO, was held at the Ambassador’s residence. Mr. Kazuya Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Bosnia and Herzegovina, awarded IPIL-IPIL no KAI with the Commendation in recognition of their distinguished services in contributing to the deepening of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and BiH.
IPIL-IPIL no KAI started its assistance to BiH in 1998 and particularly since 2002, this association has been planting cherry trees, as a symbol of peace, in Sarajevo and other cities in this country. In total, the number of cherry trees planted is as many as 1750. Since 2014, IPIL-IPIL no KAI has also been organizing children’s sketch contest in Sarajevo with the theme of peace, and exhibition of the children’s works in Japan. Additionally, in 2016 the association invited the winners of the contest to Japan, to experience the rich Japanese culture, and to interact and exchange knowledge with Japanese children.
Ms. Anesa Kundurovic, former Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Japan, and Ms. Jasmina Pasalic, President of Rotary Club Sarajevo - International Delta, also attended the ceremony.
